How do I register to participate in the conference?

When will the SPIMUN conference be held?

The conference will be held from Monday 28th till Tuesday 30th of March 2022.

 

Who is allowed to participate?

SPIMUN is designed for high school students 14-19 years old.

 

Is the community housing available?

Unfortunately, in most cases community housing is not provided. The question may be considered only within the framework of an exchange program between schools.

 

How to apply for the Student Officer position?

Download the application form. Return it by December, 30 together with an application letter and MUN-Director’s recommendation. Letters of application should include a candidate’s experience and qualifications. Letters of recommendations should outline a candidate’s leadership abilities, his/her academic performance, school and extra-curricular activities. If there are more than one application from one school, the MUN-Director must rank order the applicants.

 

What do the delegates need to prepare for the conference?

During the preparation for the conference delegates need to do the following:

 

  1. Download and study the Rules of Procedure of the conference
  2. Make a country research to be able to represent a UN Member State
  3. Research the questions of the Agenda of their committees
  4. Prepare a draft resolution on one or two issues according to the requested format. Sample resolution, preabulatory and operative phrases can be found here: http://spimun.jimdo.com/samples/
  5. Choose the members of school delegation to deliver an Opening Speech(es) (on behalf of the Member State he/she represents) during the Official Opening ceremony and prepare the speech which must not exceed ONE minute. Sample Opening Speech can be found here: http://spimun.jimdo.com/samples/

The structure of SPIMUN includes the Security Council, the General Assembly (4 Committees), the ECOSOC, and the Special Conference. SPIMUN is designed for high school students (14 - 19 years old).
